Why “Precious Promises”? Because one passage from the Bible has enticed and challenged me to try–for over 50 years so far–to really understand what it says:
“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.” (2 Peter 1:3-4)
Can anyone read and grasp what that means and not be amazed and motivated to want to know what those “very great and precious promises” are?
I’ve been a Christian since my baptism 8/13/74. After many different church experiences, good and bad, with much journaling to sort through all of them, certain basic questions distilled as logical to ask. Seeking answers to them resulted in a series of booklets about the Precious Promises of God.
My hope for this blog is to share the answers I’ve found so far in the Bible and to find others who are also seeking answers to these big issues of life.
